The Ultimate Guide for Different Poker Card Suits

Are you interested in card games? You must have listened about the most popular card game – Poker. The game can be played using a deck of cards. Generally, the poker game starts with players showing their cards with the highest values in a clockwise round with betting money. So, the player with the best combination of cards of the highest value will eventually win. The rules & techniques vary in the different types of poker games. The most popular types of poker are the 5-card draw, follow the queen, high/low Chicago, 7-card stud, Texas Hold’Em, and Omaha. 

An integral part of the game is the standard 52 deck of poker cards. It comprises face cards as well as number cards denoting different values. In total, poker has four suits in the cards. Let’s take a closer look at these poker suit cards.

Types of Poker Card Suits 

Under the standard 52 deck poker cards contain 13 ranks in all four suits. The ranking of cards follows high to lower ranges. The sequence can be understood as the highest value card – Ace, and the smallest valued card Deuce (two or 2 cards). Different cards show the pattern of A, K, Q, J, 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2.  The ace card is considered as the most valuable card in the poker game. Apart from the ace card, you will find three face cards : Kings, Queens, and Jacks K, Q, & J.

Clubs Suit

Club cards are one of black-colored poker cards. The sign is represented by three-leaf clover with its stalk directing downwards.. It comprises 13 clubs under a deck and includes 9 number cards – 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2 and four face cards – A, K, Q, & J.

Spade Suit

Another black card – Spades are considered the best card to get under the poker game. The representation sign of a spade card is more like a leaf. One will get standard 13 spades cards, including numbers one as  10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2, and other face cards Ace, King, Queen, & Jack.

Red colored Cards

Hearts Suit

Under the red color category, you will find a heart suit that depicts a red heart sign as per the name. It also contains the same pattern of nine number cards as 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2. Also, the face cards of Ace, King, Queen, and Jack represent A, K, Q, & J. 

Diamond Suit

Another red color suit is a diamond, it is represented by the sign of a parallelogram with four equal sides and placed on one of its points. Under the deck of poker cards, we will find 13 card combinations that include 9 numbers as 10, 9, 8, 7, 6, 5, 4, 3, 2. It also following the same pattern of face cards with Ace, King, Queen, and Jack.
